Vinicius fulfills Cristiano Ronaldo’s request after they met in Saudi Arabia

Ronaldo completed his transfer to Saudi club Al-Nasr in January and spent some time with his former club in mid-January when they were in Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup.

At the time, Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior wrote on Instagram alongside his photos with Cristiano Ronaldo: “Meet my biggest fan!” The 37-year-old had visited Real Madrid’s training in Saudi Arabia, before Carlo Ancelotti’s team faced Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final.

Ronaldo was also photographed talking to Los Blancos coach Carlo Ancelotti, who appeared happy to see his former team, Real Madrid.

The Portuguese star was also videotaped having a lengthy conversation with Vinicius in the facilities. Ronaldo joked at the time, “I’m missing” from the Brazilian’s home gym, in a warm conversation of mutual respect between the two.

Real Madrid’s social media accounts released the video at the time, and the conversation culminated in a hug between the players, with Ronaldo referring to Vinicius as “son” in an apparent show of admiration.

In response, Vinicius Jr. has now added a picture of Cristiano Ronaldo to his home gym after the Portuguese star criticized his absence from the “Wall of Legends”.

The Brazil international has a wall full of pictures of sporting stars including Ronaldo Nazario, Pele, Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant in his home gym in Madrid. He’s now added former Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, along with current Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, to the wall.

Ronaldo is a Real Madrid legend, scoring a rare 450 goals for the club over nine seasons between 2009 and 2018, in just 438 matches. He won four Champions League titles in the Spanish capital over that period.

Vinicius joined the Real Madrid squad the summer Ronaldo left for Juventus and has developed into one of the best strikers in the world in the five years since. He made over 200 appearances for the club, scoring 55 goals.

The 22-year-old scored 22 goals last season for the club, including the winning goal in the Champions League final against Liverpool.
