Ancelotti accuses three players of causing Real Madrid’s poor results

Carlo Ancelotti accused three Real Madrid players of causing the team’s results to decline in the past three matches, as it drew with Atletico Madrid 1-1, then lost to Barcelona with a clean goal, and drew 0-0 on Sunday evening with Real Betis.

This disappointing tie caused the difference to widen to nine points between Barcelona, leader of the La Liga standings with 62 points, and Real Madrid, runner-up, with 53 points.

Despite this, Ancelotti did not lose hope of winning La Liga and said after the Real Betis match: “Yes, crowning La Liga is possible. It is not impossible. Of course it is very difficult, very complicated but we have no doubt that we will fight to the end.”

In his analysis of the course of the match, Ancelotti directed the accusations against the offensive line consisting of Vinicius, Benzema and Rodrigo: “It was a difficult match. Above all because I think he could have done better in terms of attacking efficiency. We had good chances to score.”

He added, “We started well from the back, we searched between the lines, but we lacked a little bit of efficiency. More pass, less pass… It’s mistakes like that.”

And he continued, “There is a clear truth: we have scored only one goal in the last three matches, and it was from a set-piece, it is clear what was missing. We have to be more effective.”

And he finished: “Competitors are converging, but we have the quality that we can do better. We have to be more efficient and reduce dribbling and other things… We have to be more aggressive. We know we have to improve on that.”
