Benzema explains why he didn’t welcome Cristiano Ronald in his visit to Real Madrid training: “I do not need to take a photo with him”

The Frenchman, Karim Benzema, appeared in the press conference that was held this afternoon, Saturday, in Saudi Arabia, in preparation for the El Clasico match between Real Madrid and Barcelona in the final of the Spanish Super Cup, which will be held tomorrow, Sunday, at ten o’clock in the evening, Saudi time.
Karim Benzema refused to answer questions about his recent crisis with France at the World Cup, and explained why he did not shake hands with Cristiano Ronaldo during the Portuguese player’s visit to Real Madrid training on Friday.
Benzema began his remarks, saying: “The final tomorrow means that we have another title, another pride. At Real Madrid, they always ask us to win titles and to show that we are here every year to bring the trophy to Madrid. We have to be ready to win this match.”
He added: “I had an injury and I did a good job to get back to my level. I work with the ball, I score, I help my teammates, and I improve my game. Obviously I’m back. I hope I can help my teammates.”
He continued, “The most important thing for us is tomorrow’s match. I’m ready, I’m ready mentally and physically. I’m focused on tomorrow’s game. After last year, which was important for me, I needed time to get back to my best level. I’m on my way back, I’m in good shape and I feel good.”
When asked about the difficult moments he went through in his recent crisis with the French national team, Benzema said: “This is not the issue of tomorrow, the issue is the final. I can’t tell you more about France or the World Cup. I will not answer that.”
On renewing his contract with Real Madrid: “I am here, enjoying every training session and every match. For me it’s year after year. I can’t tell you how long I will be staying here. I enjoy every day.”
On his future, he added: “I enjoy every day at Real Madrid. We don’t know what will happen in football, but hopefully we can win the cup tomorrow.”
On Saudi Arabia and Cristiano’s move to victory: “Saudi Arabia is a very beautiful country. All the fans are happy to be here. We hope to win tomorrow, which is important for us. Cristiano? He was with us yesterday, hopefully he can make a difference here.”

Regarding the lack of photos of him with Cristiano Ronaldo during his visit to Real Madrid training, Benzema said: “My relationship with Cristiano? We don’t need to take a photo together to say we’re friends, we don’t. He was in training and I didn’t have time to talk to him.”
